The more songs you learn, regardless of how you play the chords, the easier and easier it will get for your fingers. Another quick tip - learn songs that use a minor barre chord (based off the Am shape). These chords only require a barre on the 1st and 5th string, so you have fewer strings to worry about barring. The Em chord is probably the easiest chord to finger for beginners and so is the E Major chord, which uses the this fingering: Place your second finger (Middle) on the 2nd fret of the A string. Place your thrid finger (Ring) on the 2nd fret of the D string. Place your first finger (Index) on the 1st fret of the G string.

tranhuy9 • 6 yr. ago. Took me around 1 month to be able to fluently change between those 4 chords. Although I can always work on building up more speed but I can change between them at a moderate tempo. I'm currently working on some more complex chords and it's taking me months for those.
